Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 2026
Overview
WorkLog ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when you use the Extension. We strictly adhere to the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies regarding user privacy and data use.
Data Collection and Use
The Extension operates entirely within your browser and processes data locally to provide its features:
- Authentication: The Extension uses your existing active browser sessions for Jira and Bitbucket. It does not collect, store, or transmit your passwords or API tokens.
- Work Data: The Extension reads data from your Jira and Bitbucket accounts (such as issues, worklogs, and pull requests) strictly for displaying it in the dashboard.
- Local Storage: Your preferences and cached data are stored locally on your device using Chrome's local storage mechanism.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We believe your data is yours. The Extension does not:
- Transmit your data to any external servers or third-party services.
- Sell or rent your data to third parties.
- Use your data for targeted advertising or any unrelated purposes.
The only network requests made by the Extension are directed to your configured Jira and Bitbucket instances to fetch the necessary data for your dashboard.
Permissions Justification
The Extension requests only the minimum necessary permissions to function:
- Host permissions (Jira/Bitbucket domains): Required to fetch tasks and pull requests from your configured instances.
- Storage: Required to save your settings and cache data locally for faster loading.
- Alarms/Background: Required to periodically refresh your data and provide notifications if enabled.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page, and we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top.
