Welcome to RememberMe. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension handles your information, with a particular focus on how we interact with Google user data.

Google User Data Disclosure

Our application uses Google APIs to provide calendar synchronization features. We comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

1. Data Accessed:

• Google Calendar events: We access your primary calendar through the calendar.readonly scope to retrieve event titles, start times, and meeting links (e.g., Google Meet). This information is used solely to create automated reminders and alarms within the extension.
• Google account email: We access your email address through the userinfo.email scope to uniquely identify which Google account is currently synced and to group your reminders appropriately.

2. Data Storage & Protection:

• Local Storage: All Google user data retrieved is stored locally on your device using the chrome.storage.local API.
• Encrypted Transport: Data is fetched directly from Google APIs over secure HTTPS connections.
• No Server-Side Processing: We do not transmit, upload, or store your Google user data on any external servers. We (the developers) never have access to your calendar or profile data.

3. Data Retention & Deletion:

• Retention Policy: Google user data is retained locally as long as the extension is installed and the specific Google account remains synced.
• User-Initiated Deletion: You can delete all synced Google data and revoke our access at any time by clicking "Remove Sync" or "Remove Account" in the extension's "Identity" or "Settings" tab.
• Automatic Deletion: Uninstalling the extension from your browser will automatically delete all locally stored data, including any retrieved Google user data.

4. AI/ML Usage Disclosure:

• We do not use your Google user data (including data from Google Workspace APIs) to develop, train, or improve Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Machine Learning (ML) models.

5. Data Sharing & Transfer:

• No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data to any third-party entities, including advertisers, data brokers, or other app developers.
• No Sale of Data: We do not sell your Google user data to any entity.
• Limited Use Compliance: RememberMe's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
• Legal Disclosures: We only disclose data if required by law to comply with a subpoena or other legal process. However, since all Google user data is stored locally on your device, we (the developers) do not possess this data and cannot disclose it ourselves.

General Data Collection

To provide history tracking and reminder features, RememberMe collects the following information locally on your device:

• Browsing Activity: Domains and specific page URLs you visit.
• Visit Metadata: Timestamp of visits and duration spent on pages.
• User-Generated Content: Notes, reminders, and sticky notes you create within the extension.

How We Use Your Data

The collected data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• Displaying your recent browsing history within the extension popup.
• Allowing you to revisit frequently used domains and pages.
• Managing and triggering your custom domain reminders and alarms.
• Improving your personal productivity by keeping track of important sites.

Data Storage and Security

All data collected by RememberMe is stored using Chrome's storage.local API. This means:

• No Cloud Storage: We do not use any external servers or cloud services to store your browsing history or notes.
• Device Bound: Your data is specific to the browser profile where the extension is installed.
• User Control: You can delete all tracked data at any time through the "Settings" tab in the extension.

Third-Party Access and Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise share, transfer, or disclose your personal information, including Google user data retrieved via our application, to any third parties.

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, it is never shared with us (the developers) or any other third-party entity.

Permissions Justification

RememberMe requires specific permissions to function correctly:

• tabs: Used to detect which URLs you are visiting to track history and display relevant notes.
• storage: Used to save your history and notes locally on your device.
• alarms: Used to trigger domain-specific reminders and synced calendar events.
• identity: Used to securely authenticate with Google APIs for calendar synchronization.
• scripting & <all_urls>: Used to correctly identify page context and provide seamless tracking across different sites.

Children's Privacy

Our extension is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
